I’m so excited Josi S. Kilpack’s next book in her Sadie Hoffmiller Culinary Mystery Series is coming out this month and to celebrate the release of Pumpkin Roll, she and her publisher, Shadow Mountain, are sponsoring a contest for a new iPad2!
I raved about the first book in this series called Lemon Tart: Mystery Books with Dessert Recipes

This IS a great read for the Halloween season! Sadie is quite the character getting herself into all sorts of trouble as she has a lot of free time on her hands being a recently retired teacher with two college age children out of the house. She is widowed and has been dating a police officer from her town. She loves to be a detective and get to the bottom of a mystery!
Pumpkin Roll takes Sadie on a trip to help babysit her boyfriend’s grandchildren who claim they have a witch living next door! These books will keep you on your toes as Kilpack does a great job keeping you twisting and turning with surprise endings! I love to read this series!

I first met Josie on a Writer’s Conference Cruise a few years ago. It has been exciting to follow her success as a writer. Look forward to her next visit to the Phoenix area.
I love the Sadie Hoffmiller books. They are so entertaining and they always have such a good mystery about them. I rave about them to my friends and encourage them to go and buy it. I can’t wait for the next one!!!

I am so NOT a cook, so I pretty much skip the recipes in Pumpkin Roll (except for the asterisked parts because those are often funny). But the rest of the book? AWESOME!

Josi is one of my favorite authors! I’m just spreading the news. I also enjoy the recipes. Often culinary mysteries have recipes that are unique or “fancy” I never make those. Josi’s recipes are simple homemade goodness. Love them-especially the Key lime pie recipe.
